power antenna replacement

is it tough to replace the mast on the power antenna..??

the motor still runs on mine but i think its stripped....thankfully stuck in the UP position so i just unplugged it for the time being.

has anyone tried one of the rubberized flexible antenna's that are like 15" long??...i saw one on ebay for like $20...but also a mast replacement kit for $22...

thanks,
John

if you decide to replace your antenna assembly, I'd like to take the old assembly off your hands.
Otherwise, ebay's a great place to get antenna masts.

I have the same problem. I can hear the motor working, but the mast is stuck on the up position. Does this mean that the gears are stripped? Can I fix my old one, or will I need a new mast?

I was thinking of getting an aftermarket antenna, how much would you pay for my assembly?

If the teeth on the plastic guide are stripped, you can buy an "antenna remast kit" from the Nissan dealer. Price, around $25. It comes with the metal mast only. You remove the old mast (unscrew the locknut, pull it out) and guide in the new one. Very easy.
