Help: auto tranny starting to chirp between gears?

I have a 90 maxima with 101000 highway miles. The automatic transmission has just started to chirp when shifting from 2nd into 1st while accelerating. Can someone please help me with this one? The fluid is clean and not burnt and was changed about 30000 miles ago..

Thanks,

Dave Maher

Re: Help: auto tranny starting to chirp between gears?

There comes a time in every automatic transmission's life when it begins to morph into a manual. j/k

30,000 miles is the reccomended point to have the fluid changed. Perhaps it needs to be flushed once again. It's hard to say with these crappy transmission what could be wrong, any sign of trouble and it's mostly likely an indication it's going to become a hunk of burning sh*t in a little while. I'd have it checked out asap.

You said chrip, you mean you hear a chirping sound when the transmissin is shifting, or it chirps the tires against the road?

It definately is not the tires chirping. I baby this car because it hauls my butt 160 mile a day to and from work.
