Looking for lightweight 17's...

I just ordered Kosei Racing K1 wheels from Tire Rack. These wheels are 17 X 7.5 and weigh 16 lbs. That is pretty light! Just wanted to let everyone else know they only have a few sets left (available in white only). AND, you really can't beat the price. $139 per wheel. Thought I would share the info.

Lighter than that...

Hey Man,

I suggest you use the Centerline RPM wheels because the 17s weigh only 13.5lbs. And each pound you loose on unsprung weight will dramatically increase performance gains. Good luck in choosing the right wheels and research before you purchase anything.

Konig Rated R's look nice and are pretty light I think. They're not ultra light like the other one that was posted, but they weigh less than a max's stock 16's.

So how are you liking the ride/handling of 17's compared to 18's?

18's handled much better. Those Dunlop SP Sport's seem excellent tires compared to Sumitomo HTR+. However, the HTR+ are all-season versus Dunlops are summer only.
16" stock rims+tires weigh: 40lbs
17" Kosei rims+Sumitomo's weigh: 40lbs
18" Enkei RS6+Dunlops weigh: 45lbs
I am guessing that the Sumitomo's are also kinda heavy.

Do you think your handling would be better than it is now w/ the 17's if you had Dunlops on them?

How much do stock 16's weigh? Sorry if this is a repeat.

hey, would you happen to know off the top of your head how much a set of those rims cost?

I believe they are around $279 each but I'm sure there are surcharges too. I'd say like $300 a wheel as stated above. Pricey little bastards!

I think so, however, I would've had to give up "all season" drivability. Guess, you can't have it all
