I'm a bone stock 95 SE 5spd. A few days ago I'm coming up on a new Celica GTS (he's in the right hand lane and I'm in the left). I wasn't really planning to race or anything, but he waits till I'm a lil behind him and guns it. So I'm like, what the hell, so I go for it. Well, I had to slow down before I caught up with him because there was a car in my lane. So I pull over behind him at the light and when it turns green he takes off leaving enough room for me to move in front of the car in the other lane. So now I'm beside him at 25-30 and open road. He guns it, so I do the same. By the time we hit 85mph he was right at my back bumper. We shut it down then because he was turning. It was my first run in with one of those, so I checked and saw that they are rated at 180hp, but also read that they have been able to dyno at 160plus at the wheels. Is it safe to say this car is a pretty good contender with the stock 4th gen max?

 

It really depends...the Celica may APPEAR fast, but the stock engine doesn't really have much to offer. Congrats on the kill.

 

GT-S's are quick. supposedly run high 14's....too bad the maxima doesn't have a blower! i beat a gts one time but the driver was a dumbass.
