I saw these Monroe struts with SensaTrac technology ... does anybody know if these are any good? any good/bad experiences with these?

My OEM front struts on my 89 SE need to be changed...i was thinking of going for these Moroe Sensatrac struts...any suggestions about these?

I used monroe shocks with sensatrac. I think they are great. The handling is a lot better.

 

Maybe better than struts with 100k on them. When I bought my GXE, it had been in am accident the year before. It was properly fixed by a bodyshop I trust. They replaced the front left strut with a Monroe because of the accident. So, when I installed the Tokico's I noticed that the Monroe was leaking. A year old, and the 9 year old OEM strut was in better shape.

 

Don't get monroe struts. Very bad strut. I have a friend who had them and he had a lot trouble with them. I rather you get kyb gr2's and if you have the money go for the tokico blue shocks.

 

D-Sta...what kind of trouble did your friend have with them? Do tell...

 

i just recently had the oem struts on my '90 gxe replaced with these struts about 800 miles ago. so far, they have been better than oem but nothing amazing. feels like they have better rebound control. hopefully they wont have any problems like you guys are saying they do...if i knew ahead of time i might not have bought them.

 

He had monroe shocks for 6 months and wasn't very happy. When he just got them they were much better than the 11 year old stock struts. 2 or 3 months later he began telling me that it started to feel and take bumps like his stock shocks. So time went by and he didn't like them. So he ordered tokico blue shocks, when I was doing the install the front left strut was leaking a little, for a 6 month old strut, pretty pathetic.

If you are even considering lowering your car, DO NOT get Monroes. Waaay too soft. I've had mine on for about two weeks and I already want to rip them off! Boing!

 

I agree no monroe when going with a drop, very bad!
