Would you buy rims and tires off of Ebay??
I've really been wanting to get the 17 inch OEM rims and notice from time to time that they show up on Ebay, usually around 750-1000 for rims and tires.
I started to notice that most of the sellers are people with no feedback and some of the usernames are pretty odd
I bid on a set but was out bid. During the time I was the top bidder I was starting to think. How do I know that these guys are legit? How do I know that they didn't just heist the rims off of some poor guys Max?
Guess thats the chance you take on Ebay....would you guys do it and feel comfortable about it? I just can't shake the stolen wheel thoughts. Have decided to search local salvage yards as the winter should bring some trashed Max's in....

I had the same question before.
I had that same question before. I guess you have to be safe and cross your fingers about it. I sold 4- 15 inch wheels from my old altima se that i sold two months ago. My name is my e-mail address. So I guess just e-mail the seller and cross your fingers. If the transaction does not go well, then rip their feedback to warn other. I also think you can report the incident to ebay and they will take action, just have the ecipts of the monder sended and save the e-mail from the seller. correct me if I am wrong. hope that helps.
i buy a lot from ebay...it all depends on the seller's ratings for me and what they have sold in the past...
rims are a no no for me though...i have talked to a couple people who have gotten bent rims off ebay...and they were advertised as good condition...2 of which ebay is trying to deal with...not worth the hassle if that happens IMO...

i mean, do you really know these people?
i mean, for about $1000, if you're going to spend that much money on OEM wheels, then just go to one of those wheel recyclers and they'll have it for about the same money...
but then you wouldn't have to anxiously wait until this 'stragner' finally decides to ship them to you....

I understand your concern. I just recently purchased 16"-5 spoke wheels off of ebay and I too was very hesitate. I must tell you that it worked out fine and the wheels were in excellent condition. One suggestion is when you see wheels on ebay that you might be interested in you should email that person directly and you might be able to cut a deal and get more information about the item and also sometimes by speaking with the person you can sometimes get a good or bad vibe about the person. The only suggestion that I have is go with your gut feeling because most of the time it is right.
