Nissan Commercial: Chasing the Sunset

I was watching TV last night and I saw the infamous Maxima commerical where the guy speeds down the highway to see the sun set again. When the camera shows the rear end of the Maxima, I noticed it was an '01 model with the SE tail lights. When the commercial ends, the 255hp text shows up in white text on a black background. What gives? Did Nissan mess up their own commercial? Was this done on purpose?

Re: Nissan Commercial: Chasing the Sunset

Yea, they just used the y2k commercial and added a few things to it...Its the same basic commercial really. Looks like they just added a shot of the 2k2 front grille and a couple other 2k2 shots.

This is funny. We're like the only people that would notice this. I saw the original commercial way back when.

When the "new" commercial come on the other night, I said to the G/F: "Hey, they redid the commercial for the 2k2". Then I saw the shot of the rear; smoked lights. Then I saw the guy shift; black shifter. Then I saw the front again; HID.

They are all over the place on this one. Why not show the astronaut one instead of showing this hacked up commercial? I've never seen this one on tv.

Ha Ha!! You're right..

Although, as hacked up as this commercial is, I still think it's awesome!! Nissan has got to have the best commercials in the industry.

I saw the same commercial the other night and the front of the car was also different than my 2k2. The grille was definately pre 2k2. The "Nissan" logo on the grille and the grille itself were smaller than those on my 2k2. Then the commercial ended and I saw the smoked out tail lights and that confirmed it for me. I prefer the clear lenses that I have on my 2k2.

I used to luv that commercial the first few times they aired it and I would turn up the volume to listen to the song and the engine roar. Did the same the other day and I dunno if it was the channel I tuned to or if they cut it out intentionally, but the base (drums) is missing at the end of the commercial. Maybe it's coz of the SHIFT_ logos that they have now?

I have the astronaut commercial in an AVI file that you can play on your PC. If anyone wants it let me know, I'll be happy to email it to you.
