Anyone thinking of trading their 5th Gen for a 350Z

I wanted to know if anyone is planning to trade their 5th Gen Maxima to a 350Z? They have them available at some dealers however, I'm skeptical to get the first Generation of the 350z due to bugs on so forth, also the resale value is terrible on the MAXIMA!!!

You can find one easily for 5K+ above sticker..............

Yes maximas have terrible resale (and no I dont care for your opinion about why you dont buy a max for that reason fellow .orgers).

If you can a 350Z @ sticker price I would jump all over it. I would doubt there would be any engine bugs as such mainly because its the same engine as the new Altima/Maxima. If I where you I would wait till I was 25 before buying a sports car for insurance purposes.

Thanks for listening to me ramble

Same here. I want the car but need the backseats.

But I would keep the Max if I could save up enough dough for some boost

Man, they are killing me with the billboard near my work. I see it way too often. It's not enough that the Z is my wallpaper on my home and work computer, now I have to see it on a billboard. Torture, I tell you...

Having said that, I'll wait for the retractable hard top (supposedly coming out for 2004). I can't seem to be able to justify getting rid of the Max, though. It's too good of a car to let go. We'll see what happens. I did see a georgeous black Z on the showroom floor. It made me weak in the knees...

I wont consider another Nissan. period. After a long weekend of worrying about it, I called and let my slot go (I had 3 days to get them the money). I would already have the car by now.

Service has just been a thorn in my side. I dont feel like Nissan NA is there to help me at all, only there to back up dealer shenanagins (alot of the time).

I was under the impression I had a 'flagship'. Truthfully, they act like I'm draggin in with a 1985 Sentra. No seat covers, track grease in the car, scratch everything they touch. I was under the mistaken impression that having one of the most expensive cars they had would give me alittle bit of respect in service (Dealer and Nissan NA). They could care less.

Same with our PF LE.

So after that long weekend (banks were closed when I was offered the slot on the weekend), I decided the 350Z would only break my heart more. This was confirmed for me when I talked to a friend with a 300TT. He took it in for service and one of the employees stole it. The SM refused to even acknowledge the car was even there. Didnt take long for the cops to find it. :/ Not even an apology. Btw, this dealer is consider a top ranked one around here! Go figure. Same one that told me they have NEVER seen a slipping transmission.. but they sell 30-40 maximas a month... rrrrrright...

anyway, I will wait to see what happens with the G35C. Its the 350 that will get some respect - not from others but Nissan itself.

2k2 FS

If anyone with a 6spd with lthr and limited slip looking to trade sell to me instead of trading, first find out how much they were going to give you for the trade.

i was thinking about trading in but once again that would be too much of a loss (2k1 paid off). i may just go in and ask how much they offer. sucks cause i have a body kit, springs, and a few audio enhancements already and i was plannin on gettin rims but am thinkin of postponing to see how i feel in a few months.
i may just wait like others said for a couple more years when im 25 then hopefully i could make a more mature decision..... rrrrriiight.

definately G35

i've been coomparing them a lot lately...
man the red g35 coupe i saw in manhattan was jus too nice...
besides, i agree with TIM...nissan service just sucks...
when i went i had my car there for 3 days and they didnt even look at it. although infinity is from the same company, i trust their service would be a lot better. not a lot of cheap cars in the infinity line unline nissan(sentra, old altimas...compared to infinity of course)
i'm also hoping the paint on the g35 isnt the same as the maxima paint. please tell me it isnt so somebody...

Actually, go look at the g35 sedans bumpers. The paint doesnt match on just about any of the colors. This was a problem for 96-98 Maximas. I can't believe its back. White is probably the worst.

If this plays out like it did on the max's, the bumpers will only began to mismatch more as time goes on.

Its easy to see why, bumper is black underneath, metal is gray primer. The paint isnt thick enough to completely hide this variation between the two painted surfaces. You have to look closely and in sunlight. Sad...
