Auto window mod.

Have any of you out there modded your max so that your rear windows have the auto up/down feature from the drivers door controls? I wonder if the switches would fit? It seems if they would it would mearly be a matter of using the same controls that the front doors use. Anybody got a tech manual that shows anything?

For that matter...

has anyone swapped the controls from a 2k2 to a 2k or 2k1 (to get the auto passenger control)?

Either in the driver's side only or both sets of controls?

someone posted this a while back. i think they found that it was more trouble than it was worth since you need some limit sensor and a different motor?? but that was to use the driver side assembly on the passenger side, before the 2k2.
maybe easier if you get a 2k2 assembly. it's more than the switch i know.

Guess it's time to consult parts master DaveB!

Correct. A friend of mine hooked up an "Auto All" button in his Intrepid. He recommends not messing with it, it was a nightmare. Though it is cool to hit one button to close all your windows...

Thats exactly what I was thinking. Yea backs would be nice but auto up would be the chit. It gets F'ing hot here in GA and auto up when it rains would sure be nice.

I seriously dont see why not use auto window modules from a car alarm, they are easily triggered by a momentary switch. There are a ton of blank plates on the max dash (and center console if you dont have heated seats). You could put in a very OEM switch for ALL down or up.

They basically watch the load like the switch does. As I recall, most of the wires are in the kick panel, except for the driver window.

Glad to see I'm not the only one. I just want to rig it so I can have the rears go up without having to hold the switch. Call me lazy I guess.
