I finally get why people say don't buy cheap bulbs...
i've been using Nokya whatever's for a couple of months, without upgrading the harnesses because i'm smart, or lazy...anyways, last night i noticed my lights looked like they weren't even on as i was driving to burger king with some friends...so when i got there, one of my headlights was out cuz the wire comes loose every now n then. so i fix that. when it came back on, the other one looked really dim and yellow. so i took it out to check it, boom...it explodes. luckily i had just bought a pair of phillips blue visions the week before, so i got those from my trunk and replaced other ones.
cliff notes: don't buy cheap bulbs for $20 on ebay, especially if you're not gonna upgrade harnesses.

uhhhh...were ur bulbs higher wattage than normal? u need to upgrade the harness if u go with higher wattage no matter how expensive the bulb is.

but, i haven't heard of higher wattage bulbs actually exploding because of improper harness connected to them..
what usually happens in these cases is the socket melts.. i think.
i have upgraded wire harness, or should i say.. had.
i had the APC one and after a year and change use they weren't functioning well

Damn that's crazy my OEM head lights burnt out so I just went to Wal-Mart and got some GE Hyper Blue Plasma, well they didn't explode but they didn't last more that 4months. When you sadi they exploded did you literly mean the glass shattered?

yeah, i noticed it was dim so when i unscrewed it and took it out, whammo kaboom!, it exploded...i noticed today the top half of it is in the headlight housing itself...i should probably take care of that sometime. it was really weird to say the least.
If you've been running the lights, I dont think you should be pulling them out of the housing right after or while they're in use. It will most definately result in a lose of the bulb or one of its filaments.
