Scariest moment of my life

tonight, I was driving through a ramp of I-85 that connects to I-285. It was raining and the roads were wet. I had to get a rim fixed so I was riding on three 18's, and one 15 with pretty worn tires. As I was coming off the ramp to get on 285, I felt my car started to slip (i was alone in the car). It was minor, and I tried to correct it by turning into the spin, but in the heat of the moment, I made a mistake (I have a 5spd) and lightly tapped on the break. The car went into a full spin (I was going 60-65 beforehand), I spun around 4-5 times and was heading toward the main highway (diagram is below), somehow, I had my senses about me and tried to turn the wheel into the spin to stop the spinning, I had absolutely no control. Thank god (which I'm a much stronger believer in), I stopped directly on the median between the two highways with my front facing the traffic. After collecting myself, I somehow managed to get back on the highway facing the wrong direction when all the cars were going in the 80's. I'm definetely getting my rim fixed ASAP, and having more caution when driving in the rain. Looking back in retrospect, it is simply unbelievable that I stopped where I did and did not run into the cars from either highway. It makes you realize how precious your life is and how at any moment it can be changed forever. To everyone reading this, if you plan on doing something risky, don't, because you might not get so lucky as I did tonight.

Glad you are ok. Something similar happened to me once during winter in a transition from salted/dry pavement to the icy/slick pavement of an on ramp. I ended up facing the other way on the interstate, completely stopped. As I was spinning I figured that was it, thought for sure I was going to get tanked by a semi and that would be all she wrote. Thank god there wasn't a car in sight.... someone was looking out for me that day. Drive careful.
