What would be needed for a wide-body kit?

I've always felt the Maxima is too narrow a car. Wide-body S14\15s and others look awesome! What would we need to change in order to make a wide-body kit work on a Maxima?

I'd assume you'd need either wheel spacers or longer drive axles. Plus, someone would need to actually manufacturer one for the Maxima (5th gen preferably). What else would you need to make this happen?

You need wheel spacers, longer axles are not an option. You'd have to custom build everything in your suspension if you even tried it.

And nobody is ever going to manufacture a widebody kit for a Maxima. It's damn near impossible to do it to a 4 door car without a ton of custom work. That's why I'm going with the custom route this winter.

there is hardly room for fender flares in the rear, let alone any widebody in the rear.. and good luck having the wheels match up..

maxima is not a car to go nuts with body work on.

We'll see about that.

I can't let yet another loss at NOPI to go unavenged.

I don't think there is any way to go 12" on each side especially with a 4 door. Most kits are about 6", and even the insane custom cars I've seen are maybe 10" and that was on a Supra.

Sup Mike, cool, I'm gonna have to cruise around campus and find it. 1 ft wide each side? That's pretty wide! Does it look good or trashy? I'll check ICCH and see if she's a member.

no ones knows who she is. . .and you only see the car at campus once in awhile, so it's hard to see it....personally i haven't seen it myself but my friends have and they say it looks ok......

Any idea what the thickest spacer is that you can throw over oem wheel studs? I'm guessing either 5mm or 10mm.

Re: Re: Re: What would be needed for a wide-body kit?

Both. We're going to customize the Sarona kit for my car. This is going to be a one off kit that we are never going to replicate. And I'm also working on making the car wider. Nothing stupid like the feels kit for a Civic or anything. More of a fender flare deal like on BMW's.

I actually saw a max today at work with chrome feneder flares there not the little chrome that you see that people put on the doors and stuff these are actuall flares they made the car look wider they problably add about a good 2 inchs to the cars width. The chick didn't know where she got them cause her b/f got them for her. granted they were chrome but they were chrome look u can paint them mold those in with a body kit and it would look real nice on our max i'm lookin for them now to do such with them.
