Engine trouble..possible gas leak? uncommon problem..help me!!

Ok so i'm driving along and suddenly and unexpectedly my car starts rumbling like crazy and it smells like gas really bad. I hit the accelorater and it sounds like a diesal engine or a 67 mustand and rumbles like crazy, but i barely move. i pull over to the side of the raod and the car stalls. great. I start it back up and pull into pep boys which is 2 blocks away. I figure. hmm since gas is dripping out of my muffler maybe a spark plug is dead. so i go in and buy spark plugs and replace them in the parking lot. still, white smoke caome outta my muffler and it smells like gas like you would not believe. I had to get home so i drove home only ten miles but 5 gallons of gas are gone and i run out of gas on the way home. what in the world would couse gas to rapidly flow out of my engine. and through the exsaust? i hope someone knows or has heard of this. i'm afriad i've come to the end of my maxima.

a leaking injector? If that's the problem, hopefully its on the right bank of cylinders so you can get to it easily. good luck.

I think that might point more towards a leaking valve. Read your plugs be removing them and comparing them w/ the photos in the back of the Haynes manual or possibly perform a manifold vacuum test or compression test to check the status of your internals. I wish you well.
