Who know the location of the oxygen sensor, or called exhaust gas sensor, on a 90 Maxima?
Thanks.

should be right at the connection between your maf and air box. just open up your air box and remove the filter. you should see it.

It should be just before your Catalytic convertor.

Just to clear up the confusion. . . . as far as i know there are 2. one on the y-pipe and 1 just before the cat. You will see them sticking into the pipe.

Good lord. I was just gonna leave the question to the newer guys so they could help the other newer guys but damn! As Chris said, it's on the Y pipe just before the cat.

Now:

1) IT'S NOWHERE NEW THE INTAKE SECTION OF THE ENGINE!
2) 3-GEN MAXIMAS HAVE ONE 02 SENSOR!

i believe on CA spec models there are two sensors.
one that's actually the O2 and one is the exhaust gas temp.

just to clear things up.

before u break out the bubbly the O2 sensor is on the Y-pipe but it's right infront of the cat...harness is clipped to the rear engine mount.

the other sensor is NOT the O2 sensor..it's the exhaust gas temp sensor.
keep in mind the orig poster asked about the O2 sensor/oxygen sensor.

so u get 1/2 credit..but u get 1/2 that deducted because u tried to confuse everyone with the exhaust temp sensor being the 2nd O2..which is not the case.

for all u Fed Emission guys with the bible (FSM) that wants to know what i'm taking about...
EF&EC section
page 116 (or somewhere around there page vary w/ yr of FSM)

hate: your answer is there's one oxygen sensor. it's located infront of the cat on the Y-pipe itself. it sticks out to the passenger side with 3 wires attached to it. the other end of the wire goes to a harness that's grommet into a small hole on the rear engine mount.
i dare anyone else to correct me on that. BRING IT!
Thanks!
Dan
