Eyelids on our headlights?

i've tried to create some ghetto eyelids out of electric tape
but the stupid little nub thingy on the face of the headlight gets in the way. at first i was like, i'll just sand it down...oops i forgot the lense is glass...
i need some suggestions on how to make the eyelids look decent w/o ****!ng up the headlight...
it seemed so simple, but i guess not.
any suggestions are appreciated.

Eeewwwww....!!!

You don't think the beam pattern from our sh!tty headlights are bad enough? You want to make it worse by blocking some of the lenses? I hope you're not planning to drive at night!

i don't really care about beam patterns that much...if it turned out that bad i'd just drive with my high beams on all the time.

You can sand down the nubs if you're careful. Use a high speed tool(drill, Dremel, etc) and a good grinding bit. Make sure it doesnt heat up too much and polish the glass afterwards to match it up. Also the light doesn't really go out the top of the lense. That would be a really unfocused beam and he'd have more problems then just blocking a little of the top(IE, lots of glare).

bmw lights is actually quite an easy job...i won't have any qustions regarding them.
and yes i am too broke to afford the e36 lights right now...but please don't rub it in.
i don't know if i wanna chance cracking the headlight cover???'

but if i do i'll just call insurance and tell them someone kicked it in when i was in the mall or something

whos rubbing it in, I just made an observation. someone suggested that as a solution to grinding down the nubs which is like saying replace the motor cause the vtc's are bad

Those look like the GTS covers. I've just bought the clear one's and the part # for mine are GT0550C. I think taking the "C" off of that will get you the smoked ones, but don't quote me...

I guess you'll find out if the eyelid idea is s**ty after the first rain. Boosha!
(maybe if they turn out good, you could add some eyelashes)

i did it yesterday....it looks nice but i'd like to try a few other ways of doing the eyebrows.
anyone ever thought of painting eyelids?
if it doesnt work, it's easy enough to remove.
