Anyone try to have a muffler shop make a custom ypipe?

Anyone try to have a muffler shop make a custom ypipe?

Any luck with it, did you save any money?

I had shop make one for my brother. Was a little cheaper but not much. If your stock flex is bad, it will probably end up costing you more, plus your outlet dia. will be only the stock size. 2" vs 2.25-2.5" on one like Warpspeeds

stock flex

Mine was bad when I had my muffler put on, they replaced it for $65 including the part.

I think the flex pipe on our cars go bad eventually I had to replace mine also. It cost me $60.00 and make sure you get a flex pipe the same size as the stock one. If you get a smaller flex pipe in length you get this sound like bee's in a can. My 0.02

I had a 2.5" y-pipe put on by a friend's shop when he did my whole exhaust. Saved a ton. Probably $100+ on the y-pipe alone. You have to have someone who cares enough to take thier time and do it right, though. The first two (mandrel bent) split when he was bending them and we didn't notice on the first one until we almost had it on. That would have been bad. But yeah, to answer your question you CAN save some $$$$$
