Which city has the worst roads?
Which city has the worst roads?
I say Philly, which ranked second only to LA in the worst cities for cars list. Also, PA's Department of Transportation ranked dead last in the country last I heard (NJ's DOT was #1). However, we can't forget about NYC, who's roads suck as well. If we were talking about overall most hellish driving experience, NYC definitely takes it, but I'm just talking road quality.
worst roads
I'm from upstate NY but sister lives in Boston. Damn do those roads over there suck. Instead of storm-drain dips in the road, the road actually sticks up!! Every time I drive over there, I'm afraid I'm gonna bust my shocks. I feel like I need a new alignment every time I leave. Thats my $0.02.

If anyone thinks they have worse roads than Flint you are sadly mistaken. As much as I love my ground controls, I would get rid of them IN A SECOND if I lived in or around the Flint area.
any metro area in mass. been to boston and the roads are absolutely shi++y. you cant travel 15 feet before dropping into a posthole, rut, or some other crap.
i work in springfield and i see people with blowouts all day long. you stop to ask what happened and they all say i hit a pothole. when you look up the street you see 2 more cars that just hit the same ****** hole.

Some parts of Houston are okay, but for most of it driving anything over 30mph is a possible strut blow-out. If you also drive along the line of shepherd st. I could only muster 5mph due to the off-road nature of the street.
If you really want bad, go to my hometown in the other side of the world (To protect the innocent). You'll be surprised to see several trees and power line posts in the middle of the road.

On the West Coast -
Because of having the worst economy for any major Metro Area in the West, and the earthquake last year that screwed up alot of roads - Seattle wins.
I know every pothole downtown, and I've still managed to bend my rims 3 times this year. At $119 each to fix, I will have been able to almost buy a new set of tires if I bend 1 more rim.

Oh Man, if people have worse than Philly, I really feel bad for you.
It's so startling to drive out of Philly to let's say NYC and go through NJ and those smooth roads. Going to the shore is a real pleasure (except for the traffic jams and troopers
Amazingly, all the miles of highway in LA are pretty smooth.

I'd say Houston, but we don't have roads here. It's just pothole galore.

New Orleans and you guys up North have it bad
, but then again is it becuase of the cold snowy weather that causes the roads to collapse and go bad or is it that they dont want to repair them?
You all can complain about your roads, but come to PA and see the difference. I bought my 98 Maxima from Boston, drove it home, bent two rims within 3 weeks of having it here. I barely even drove the freakin thing!!! My everday commute to work (25 miles) passes me through 3 construction zones. They finish one... they start another. They never do a good job resurfacing, so ice gets under the edge and busts it up. It's like little speed bumps all over the place.
I agree with the first guy. I live in Allentown, PA and can say that Philly is even worse. I've driven to FL, TN, MI, ME, Canada, and everything in between with my Maxima now, and I always know when I'm home.

i say nyc...
potholes, curvy roads, constructions, road blocks, rocks everywhere, body kits falling off, TRAFFIC, MANHATTAN, 9/11 all this adds up man.
freaking nyc is too much of a hassle to drive in. buses, 10,000 taxis, ...look i drive exactly 9.1 miles to school and that takes me about 50 minutes. tell me that isnt crazy $hit...

i live in NYC, and yes NYC is pretty damn bad, but id say its mostly manhattan that has it bad...queens(where i live) can be DEALABLE since they are redoing alotta roads around my area finally
BUT HANDS DOWN, i thought NYC was bad until i went to boston two weeks ago...HOLY CRAP that city is bad, theres all sorts of deformations and mutations in the roads, and the city is soo confusing to drive around in, no sense of direction can be established in that city...i hope that "big dig" project helps out alot

I'm in Des Moines, let me tell ya.. Our interstate, the main and most important road, is like driving through an old mine field!! We got more pot holes than, well, idk but we got a lot of em!! I think thats why most people here drive SUV's, idk why they even paved em in the first place..

The roads are atrocious. I'd say Manhattan has it worse in places like Chinatown.. there is never ending construction all year round..
Besides the roads being beaten to ****, the next problem is that there is so many cars on the road.. and only about 1/3rd of them know how to drive. 5th ave in a free for all with the cabbies.. it's like 5 lanes but everyone is driving like it's 1.
Winter rims are a must have here.
Even if you have 17s, better be careful. I bent mine and messed up 2 tires twice in 2 weeks of driving on 17s..
