Cleaned and Flushed The Tranny Today
Drained it and pulled the pan off, it still drips continuious from the VB as you clean the bottom of the pan out. The only thing I found were the magents with some stuff on them. Turns out to be a muddy grey thick layer of ultra fine metal shavings. If anyone is up for a tranny service with 50K or more on it. Take the pan down and clean it up, it's going to need it. Thanks Bill for detailing the flush method. Disconnect that lower cooler line and it pumps out nicely. I used 10.5 Qts. of Amsoil Tranny Fluid, 4 when I drained it and removed the pan, then pump it out till it gurgles, add another 4, pump till it gurgles. Add 3 and checked the dip stick. Max needed another 1/2 quart.
The tranny feels a bit smoother under nice easy normal driving conditions. It just feels clean.
Aside form that it behaves exactly as it did before.
Rotate the tires, put a nice scratch under my drivers door.
I can't win lately. Hope everybody is having a nice weekend, my work is done, it's party time!

I switched to AMSOIL ATF at 54k, the normal tranny noise I used to hear in Park or at idle was gone. IMO it was normal noise, nothing wrong with tranny but it was gone after I switched. Is yours any quieter?

Oh well just get your bro to touch it up.
So do you think it was worth switching over? Is there a big enough difference to justify the time and cost? Have fun breakin'-it-down!

I need to do a tranny flush (and other stuff) as part of the 60K Service that I still didn't finish at almost 64K miles! I guess I'll switch to the AMSOIL too.
Anyone wanna do it for me? I'm too lazy!
