Don't forget that clutches need a break-in period to properly seat the disc with the pressure plate and flywheel. I would hold off on applying full power for 500 miles or so, assuming the break-in period consists of more city than highway driving.

yup, i agree with the break in , 500 miles is more than good enough.
Any new clutch will chirp the tires on almost any car!
The key thing is, how long will it be chirping tires for? Hopefully you wont be chirping clutches!!!
Ive got a CF stage 1, and it still grabs in second like mad.
I went the oem way on my first rebuilt colt, and it didnt last more than 5K kms. Put in a CF stage 1, and i can still do burnouts in second from a standstill, even in reverse!! Ive got about 30K abusive kms on that clutch now.
i hope that german clutch doesnt blow up on you.

well, ive only ran with CF on my last three cars, the maxima and the 88 colt turbo both have a stage 1, and both have about 35K kms on them. They still grab like if they were new.
The 89 Mirage turbo has a slightly used CFDF which came from a US mirage owner who thought he had burnt it out(he had the clutch adjustments wrong), it is holding up with ease at 17psi boost, its only got 11K MILES, plus about 2K kms on my car.
I have heard nothing bad about ACT, other than a harder pedal feel. I wouldnt know. I figure, if the CF have been good on three different cars, why not stick with it.
I bought the CF here in Toronto at a shop called performance improvements, ( www.performanceimprovements.com ) I paid $450CAD, and bought the release bearing from Nissan, $50CAD. Paid $250 labour to install it( i was stuck with the colt in the middle of a rebuild and couldnt work on both cars at the same time) I needed a car to drive, so the maxima was sent out to be worked on.
Were are lucky the maxima isnt like the Acura Legend, has anyone priced out a clutch for one of those? Its insane!! My buddy has a rare 91 legend with stickshift in a sedan, his clutch exploded, and Acura had the cheapest priced clutch, $650CAD($400US?) I looked around, and aftermarket oem style were $800CAD($550US?) and CF wanted $1400CAD(yup, $900US!) for the only available, dual friction.(CFDF)
My friends 97 M3 was cheaper to do a clutch on!!

Glad you got your car back! Its a good feeling.
I agree with the other guys, let your clutch break in.
I have owned 2 centerforce clutches:
1. 88 Mazda B2200, 17.6 @ 78MPH
2. 95 Civic SI, 15.1 @ 93MPH
I decided to go with a factory Nissan clutch on Maximus for a couple reasons:
1. The original lasted 158K miles
2. My wife drives the car (if I drove it, it would last half as long)

i'm dumb. i thought you meant carbon fiber for a sec. i know a guy around here that has a carbon fiber clutch and he said it was sweet so when you said cf i was like whoa, carbon fiber?? but oh well, from the sounds of it the centerforce is good because the pedal doesn't feel like there is more pressure. i'm looking into the jwt stage 2 clutch for the max also. that seems good and since they only do nissan they probably know more about how the car works than centerforce or act would.
