Annoying factory foglight problem
Annoying factory foglight problem
For the past month, my passenger side foglight has been acting strange. Lately it won't come one, but if I go up and hit the housing with my foot/fist, the light comes back on. Then I turn my light on and off a couple times and it works. Then if I wait 10 seconds or so and turn the lights on, it won't come back on. Then I go hit it again and it's back on. I've checked the internal wiring of the foglight and it appears to be good. I've left the bulb connected and removed it from the housing, then and put the bulb back in the housing and the second it touches metal (grounds), the light comes on. I don't think it's the bulb because I've tried other bulbs and the same thing happens. Anyone have any clues? Where does the factory foglight harness ground too?

The reason the bulb comes on when it touches the housing is because it completes the circuit with a ground.
You bulb has a bad or lost connection someplace. Make sure the ground for the fog light is in good shape. Also check the pig tale lead connection for any corrosion. Clean it up and use some WD40 to keep any moisture out.
