Need advise on B&M Oil Cooler

I bought the import oil cooler thinking it was 11x 4.5 x 1.5 and when I received it I noticed that included the mounting rails so its actually 11 x 3 x 1.5. Maybe that is ok for a honda but it is enough for a s/charged max?

Also the sandwhich adapter is about .5" thicker than i was quoted. I can replace that with an earl's for $25 and they will actually measure it for if i ask (earl's).

What do you think? Is it enough to lower the engine temp efficiently?

oh, its polished which was a little surprising...

well ask yourself how much cooling do u need? for a SC V6 it might be a weee bit small for you. but if you're ok now and just want to drop the temp a little..then it's ok. but don't expect to cool it down significantly...but the flip side is that your oil won't get TOO cold. oil that's too cold will reduce MPG (like u care)..and may cause sludge.

I have a B&M tranny cooler, and for it's size it is remarkably efficient.

I think you'll be quite surprised how well it actually works. I was amazed. And the thing is absolutely built like a tank, I installed my tranny cooler in the lower valence; where it will be exposed to a lot more rocks and road debree, but I can sleep at night because of it's solid construction.

That's the same size as Stillens cooler. You'll be fine - it's an extremely efficient design.

Honestly, I didn't notice a bit of difference; except that I sleep better at night (not worrying when I will kill my transmission).

I'm looking at converting to a cooler with AN fittings and SS lines (vs. the one by Summit Racing that is currenly on the car). I don't like the rubber hoses.

I was going to move the current oil cooler up behind the hood latch. There's plenty of room for the IC if you do this.

Jane hasn't driven the car yet.

No... hood latch in front of the radiator. You will have more than enough room there.

Go look at Brett's pictures.... the B&M cooler doesn't come with what's in the bag in adapter.jpg. There's also an adapter that holds the sandwich adapter (the big silver thing in adapter.jpg) in place, which I don't see.

Take a look at the pics and decide for yourself.

No idea on the efficiency rate, but the Perma-cool is larger. Larger and wider is always better if you're using it right.
