how often do you change your plugs

How often do you guys recommend changing your plugs. I use only NGK platinums, have no mods, and don't really race. I searched the forum and came up with 30k or 60k intervals. In my situation, is changing them every 30k a waste of money?

Based on my personal experience I now plan on changing my NGK Laser Platinum Plugs (OEM) every 40k miles. Last time I changed them at 51k, pulled plugs and they looked great. Replaced them anyway. Increase in MPG and performance was quite noticable. So now I'll change them at 40k and see if it makes any difference. Denso recommends changing their Iridium Plugs at 30k and I am convinced 60k is too much on NGK Laser Platinums. The money saved by changing at 60k IMO goes out the exhaust pipe. We as a group spend lots of money on mods for improved performance yet we might be ignoring the most cost effective mod - new plugs.
