There is only ONE decent manual for the Maxima, the OEM Nissan Factory Service Manual. Available from Courtesy Nissan. Don't funk w/ the rest of those bs manuals.

Haynes Manual

I was recently in PA and stopped by a local A&A Autoparts Store. They had both Chilton's and Hayne's manual. However, all of the store's employees recommended Hayne's due to its "high" detail work and many many pictures. I have the Haynes now and so far it has showed me everything that I have needed to do on my car. (I don't think I am going to be tearing down and rebuilding my engine though :-) However, they are both good books. (It depends on the taste of the buyer). Good Luck
