HELP! 4th gen manual trans conversion using 5th gen parts.
I'm trying to swap in a 2000 manual trans into my 1996 I30.
I didn't know the clutch pedal between the two are different!
Do you know if the brake pedal is different too?

Yes, the 4th gen and 5th gen brackets are both different. If you look at the FSM diagram you can see a difference.
This applies to both the clutch and brake pedals.

So all you need is the clutch pedal from a 4th gen. I assume you have the clutch fluid reservoir already?
Goto car-part.com
Search for a Brake/Clutch pedal for a 1995 to 99 Maxima.
Find the one with your clutch pedal....they will be rare.
Alot of junkyards should pop up. Call and talk to them to work out your best deal.

To save a lot of time do it like this:
Look up manual transmissions, then ask if the car is still there. Better way of doing it.
Most likely you're gonna find a bunch of transmissions on the shelf, but at least you won't get hanged up on and slightly better service this way.
The best way is local pick and pulls. Online partouts. What about that 4th gen parts guy on here???

Question:
On the 4th gen clutch pedal. The way it mounts is via the 2 bolts for the clutch_master_cylinder and a 3rd bolt. On the front of the clutch pedal bracket, there is a threaded nut-sert for a 4th bolt, but I don't see how that bolts up in my car.
Any help on this? I don't have a picture to provide because the clutch pedal is installed in my car.
