Tranny in 4th..... shifter in neutral ???
Tranny in 4th..... shifter in neutral ???
I have a 97 se that I had the tranny swaped about 3 months ago. I was driving today and my clutch pedel stays at the floor. I assume my clutch is gone at this point. So my car is suck in the Boonies and i decied to limp the car home without the clutch. While driveing on the freeway I try to shift from 4th to 5th and there is a thud and the shifter comes out into neutral but the car is still driving in 4th ???? I have no idea if i just messed up my trany or what? After the car was stoped I shifted the car into all of the gears and it went fine. So do you guys think i did any major damage to my tranny?? Thanks for any info you can give.

Your clutch pedal staying on the floor indicates your slave cylinder is out of fluid, has a leak and needs to be replaced. Your clutch per say is probably fine.
As far as the bang and 4th gear goes.... Get the master/slave fixed first so you can drive it again and see how the tranny acts.

Another think you can try is to bring the clutch pedal up with your hand and try moving it back and forth a few times and see if you can build any pressure in your system.
Sometimes the Master seals will catch again.

Check for leaks in your system. Have someone pump it and inspect all the lines. You dont have enough pressure to push in the pressure plate. Try checking the rubber hoses near the slave cylinder first (mine failed when i did the conversion). When doing mecannobles conversion, there was a leak near one of those connecions (that box that connects hoses). Either way, look for fluid somehwere, and fill up your reservoir. It should pump it to the leak. Geta friend to push the clutch in and out for you.
