13.999 @ 97.2 mph--All motor Maxima in the 13s

Well guys (and girls of course) it happened at 5:22pm CST at Byron Dragway in Byron, IL.

I'm making this post short, I'll post tons of details about my runs later of course, like I always do.

My mods are:
JWT POP
Cattman SS Y
WSP Testpipe
MEVI set at 5000
weight reduction
M&H slicks @ 23psi

My best ET run was:

13.999 @ 97.24mph with a 1.996 60' and its on VIDEO.

I also ran a 14.042 @ 97.24mph (again) with a 1.96 60'

I was also very happy about my highest trap speed of the day: a run which ended up 14.206 @ 98.38mph, wow. 60' on that was a 2.05.

My other 2 runs were 14.145 @ 98.03 mph (1.998 60') and 14.136 @ 97.04 (2.062 60').

Unfortunately Brian is a lame-as$ and does not a have a firewire cable so we can't put the video on the net right now. HOPEFULLY that will happen on Monday since he works all day Sunday.

So guys I wasn't BSing in my sig for all these months. I finally made it. I was so stoked when I was handed that timeslip I thought for sure it was a typo, but I backed it up with a 14.04 banging off the rev limiter in 2nd (oops).

More detail tomorrow some time. Video Monday I hope.

BTW Sprite I do NOT have that G-Force ECU yet unfortunately... the guy told me he would have it to me by Friday so I could use it this weekend but that didn't pan out. No harm no foul though, I finally got my 13s.

Carbon fiber hood (13lbs vs 46lbs stock), some pretty lightweight 15's w/ slicks the combo weighs 25lbs each in the front, my 17" Koseis and T1-Ss in the rear (36lbs each). Passenger seat taken out, spare, jack and trunk cardboard thingy removed. Race weight with 1/4 tank of gas and me in it is 2905 give or take a few lbs if I am bloated or not

Man, that's close! Can't wait to see what you do with a JWT, or even the G-Force for that matter.

Re: Re: Re: 13.999 @ 97.2 mph--All motor Maxima in the 13s

Now your going to have to be a NA test monkey. No telling what a cammed, 11.1cr 4th gen might run . All I have to say is 2900lbs race weight with driver . With about a 8-10whp/4-8wtq gain over 4000rpm cartest shows your car running 13.6s @ 101mph given a 1.9x 60'. [Capt Picard]You must make it so [/Capt Picard]. Good job man.

EDIT: I plugged your race weight into cartest and assumed that your car would be making around 189-192whp/188-195wtq. This is the simulated 1/4 I got http://www.geocities.com/nismo87se/Neal_run.JPG. You'll have to cut and paste or copy to your HD to view. How does this compare with your timeslip? Cartest when given the same weight and dyno is within 1 tenth in ET but 1-3mph high in trap.

My best trapspeed without the VI was 97.79mph with lots of 96-97mph traps. I'm hoping to be the first NA 4th gen to hit 100mph.

congradulations! Sub 14's with all motor is amazing.
What kind of advantage does it give to put 15's on the front and 17's on the rear? As opposed to having 15's all the way around.

congrats, good job , you made it! you were always in the 13's in my eyes. You motivate me to get into the 12's. You are a 12 sec ride if you drop some type of boost. A SCer drops your times by a complete sec you go figure 12.9s or below sound to you?

How that you are in the 13s N/A, what is next? Boost, nitrous or a mixture of both?

I think its an unequal weight transfer so that the car doesnt lift as much on take off? I believe Jime uses some sort of device to hold his springs from compressing leaving it with a straight launch.

Congratulations! I'm a long way from 13s with my traction/wheel hop problem. How did you eliminate wheel hop? That's a big problem with my 2K2.
