235/45/17 Tires???????

I am looking at some wheels and I know that 235/45/17 aren't recommended on 17x7 wheels but will fit. Would getting a 17x8 rim make this tire look smaller or should I stick with the 17x7. Let you all know that I am not lowered, thats mainly why I am concerned

why would it matter if you're lowered or not, still the same tire and rim size. 17x7 those are skinny...

The 17*7 will cause the tire tire to bulge out just a little, with
17*8 the tire will sit straight with the rim and not bulge any.
You should be ok running a 7 inch rim, won't be very noticable, but the 8 inch would be optimal.

I would not try to mount a 235/45/17 tire on a 17 x 7 rim. Your sidewalls will bulge outward. The 17 x 8 wheel is the way to go. Be safe. Good luck.
