Weird Sound

I have a 99 Maxima SE 5 speed. The ride has been pretty great so far. The only problem is when I go in reverse I sometimes hear a "flute like" sound. I usually hear this sound when I'm going reverse on a slant or hill. Does anybody have any idea what's causing this sound?

did you recently get your brakes done? since i got my ebrakes done, it's been doing that...the sound isn't as bad as it used to be and the guy told me it's just because the brakes are sitting a little different now. i think it'll eventually go away and you shouldn't worry about it. but that's just me, someone else may think differently.

sounds like the typical reverse sound on standard cars. all the stupid import cars make this sound, it really annoys me too. im gonna get my exhaust done just to overpower that stupid sound...

Ah ok, that calms my nerves down a but. But I plan to take the car in for some general servicing but is there anything specifically that I should mention to the mechanic to check while I'm there?

If you're speaking of a low pitched sound, it's your rear brakes binding. Maybe your ebrake needs some adjusting. Try some different pads.

I have that problem with my (no-name) pads, but haven't bothered to switch yet, as I am planning a big brake upgrade in the near future.
