is my tranny goin?

well i started to drive my car today after i finished work and i was having a lot of problems putting the shifter into 1st and 2nd. the other gears were fine. after a little while, it got easier. it was a quick ride home anyways.

i was about to go back to work rith now and i cant put the car into 1st or 2nd at all. now i have to ask my mom to borrow me her WRX to go to work, damn . well i was just wondering what could be the problem here. i dont know much about transmissions or clutches and i only had time to do a quick search because i have to go to work. everything was about automatics.

can anybody give me some advice?

I am in the same boat my friend...

I was to stupid to catch it sooner so I had to replace my clutch as well. What the tranny place told me is that you know how we have to shifter linkages(?) the one in the tranny isn't working properly. To be honest I am not sure of the correct wording he used but I remember him saying $480 for labor and worse case $like 380 in parts. I also have a bearing in my tranny that is making noise they are replacing that too. If you like I will be calling them tomorrow and Ill find out exactly what it was again. but my tranny is gonna come with a 12 month 24k mile warranty so that is a bright spot.

i really dont think that its my clutch. i dont know though. i do notice a ticking sound coming from my car that goes away when i put my foot on the clutch. i had the same problme on my old max but it had a newer clutch on it so i figured that was not the problem. i will see if i can get it towed to a shop tomorrow. any one else have any ideas?

bearing on the input shaft, or your clutch. Did you check the fluid in the resevoir? Did you check the tranny fluid level?

Check the Clutch Master and Slave cylinders. And your clutch fluid level.
