New Maxima owner!

Hi everyone

I've frequented this board for months, but today, I finally got my own Maxima... a 1999 SE with 54,000 miles... loaded except for ABS

I used to have a 5 speed 97 Prelude, which was definitely a fun car... but I'm a Maxima driver at heart.

Anyway, I will probably post here more, now that I have my own max

i noticed that you are looking for a 5spd se......my friend here in va is the luckiest man alive, he was looking for a maxima (4th generation) at all the nissan dealerships in the area. he received a call from one of the dealerships and the salesman tells him to get off work and come look at his future car.....it was a 96 se 5spd, clean as hell...with.....23k miles. i told him that if he didn't get it i was going to have to get it... needless to say...he was driving it the following day, they were asking 11,900..he added the warranty and walked out with it for 13,500. just thought you would enjoy this story...later.

Thanks guys
I'm extremely happy with the decision I made, and I plan to treat her very well... no power shifting!

She needs more power though. Thinkin' a Y-Pipe first, then if I can save up the 800, a MEVI

I'm also new to Maxima.org and to Maximas period. I got a '99 SE-Limited 5-speed with 32k for $12500. (friend owed me a favor)

The only thing I've done to it so far is put a cheap K&N filter in the stock box and CoolBlues for headlights.

Next up...tint, system, lowering, rims. In that order. I'm going to focus on aesthetics before power. I used to own a 92 Probe GT (don't laugh)...so performance is better than I had, not too worried about it yet.

And yes...after pricing the mods I will be getting, I know it will definitely be expensive. But at least there is alot more aftermarket support than the Probe. *shrug*

I know what you mean about the power - I got my 97GXE 5spd on Friday and my former daily driver, which I still have is a 91 Chevy Blazer.
All I can say is damn,I love 3rd gear at 60mph for overtaking. And I chirped 2nd for the first time on Monday - that brought a grin to my face!
My FSTB arrives tomorrow, next will be RSB, then Warpspeed Y Pipe.
Then probably shocks/springs (KYB AGX and H&Rs), then SC, lastly Rims.
