A little more details of what went down:
The shop here in So Cal was very good. Former workers for Energy Suspensions that broke away and started their own company do EVERYTHING in house. from strut body assembly and manufacturing, to sway bar creation (along with the bending).
all precision CNC work is done by a contractor, but everything else, tapping, welding, latheing, is all done in-house.
the suspension is pretty neat. its a unibody threaded housing with valve enclosures on the top and bottom. Foam/Oil filled inside for dampening, with multiple valve chambers.
what makes it unique is that the end fittings are all custom made, so that theoretically, you could take the strut housing and put new ends on it to fit a Prelude, then take off the ends and swap in 5th gen maxima connectors. its pretty universal.
all their springs are custom made for them, with the spring coeifficients meticulously calculated. They have progressive springs, but for their coilover setup it is LINEAR.
they put on the suspension, and corner weighted the car with me in it. i.e. put the car on 4 mini scales and measured the weight distribution. so i actually have a neutral (slight understeer) setup with my weight dialed into the driver side springs.
my car weighs 3022 w/o me in it and something of the weight distribution of
922 922
589 589
the top upper piece where the spring attaches to the top perch is all polyurethane. aka same stuff as engine mounts. SO no pillow ball mount. i.e. NO breakage. the urethane mounts also prevents the spring from squeeking while turning and also prevents the spring from rotating within the setup.
bump stops are significantly smaller than stock, with the overall height of the front coilover suspenion over 3 inches SHORTER than the stock set up out side of the car. same goes for the rear.
450 ft/lb x 10 front springs, and 350ft/lb 7inch springs in the rear.
Although these numbers are high, the ride is great, not as stiff as konis on full hard with sprints.
the car is slammed, with 1 finger gap in the fronts, and 2 fingers in the rear. when you lift the car up via jack stands, one push of the lever (large craftsman car lift) will already put the wheels off the ground.
the stainless steel housings look sweet, and adjustments for height is fairly easy via perch wrench and locking allen bolt.
wheel clearance issues:
you can forget about going with a 8.5 inch wide in the front. i have about 1.5 finger clearance from the inside rim to the coilover perch.
a 7.5 wide or going with a 225 tire would probably be better, but 8wide /235 tire is fine right now.
NO rubbing. camber is within spec with the camber bolts included. the camber can be adjusted to -3.0.
i hope you guys look into it for alternative suspension options..

I am also curious on the pricing, JIC's and Tien's are both around 1200-1800..
And how LOW can you take these?? It doesn't seem like you have them that low, also how do they ride and how is your camber holding up??

Those look great and the drop looks awsome. The only thing I don't like is the spring sits metal to metal on the lower perch. Thats gonig to make noise over some bumps, I guarantee that! Why didn't you use a poly isolator there also?
Metal to metal isn't a good idea with suspension components, especially the spring.

That setup looks great, if they would just isolate that lower coil from the perch I think it would be pretty quiet.

Every coilover setup I've had the "pleasure" of experiencing has been a racket and a half; Tein, GC, Cattman...and these are on all sorts of different cars.

dont be coy with me. jOo know you like it cuz it's easy to make a 5th gen piece

Whoooah!!!
Those comparison pics are sick!
What kind of weight did you shave off? Those Sprint/Cattman coilovers look punny compared to your other setup.
Would the weight savings be sprung or unsprung weight?
