A new one for SC people ->
I found a new item that needs to have routine maintenance done with a supercharger: the Blow-off Valve. I noticed at the meet that my Blitz BOV was not staying open at idle. I checked it out. I found out the BOV was only opening when I let off under high boost. At vacuum or low boost conditions, it was closed. I removed my Blitz and disassembled it. The problem was that there was debris built up in it. I had to clean the piston and chamber with carburator cleaner. This was similar to the buildup seem over time in a throttle body or carburator. After cleaning and reassembling the Blitz, it was back to normal operation. Best guess is that the BOV needs to be cleaned every 10-15,000 miles.
You shouldn't be getting any carbon build
up that far up the intake...
IIRC, the BOV isn't supposed to be open except when you let off on the gas when you shift... otherwise on some cars (although not the case in the SC Maxima) the ECM wouldn't be reading the right amount of air if the AFM was ahead of it during idle.
