I installed the Trans-Go shift kit today in my 95 automatic. I just did the valve body portion of the kit because it is the part that alters performance. The rest of the kit is just replacement seals. Installation was very tedious. It took me 5 hours. I was in no hurry and took plenty of time cleaning as I went and so forth. I got everything done according to the instructions with no problems. RECOMMENDATION--Luckily I picked up a transmission service manual at the shop where I got the kit. This was a VERY good idea. I would not recommend the install without one. As far as driving impressions go, shifts are faster and the 1-2 shift is noticeably harder. Not by any means harsh. Around town driving, you'd probably never notice it. When you floor it, you can tell it shifts faster. I installed a Trans-go kit on a 5.0 Mustang a couple years ago and it shifted HARD! It was a performance specific kit. The Maxima kit is not performance specific and is NOWHWERE near as hard. I'm interested to see how much time was knocked off my quarter-mile. Track is closed for the holidays until Jan. 12. I'll be there then runnin it and will post the improvements. I also put a trans oil cooler on at the time. It cost 40 bucks.

i dont think so..

supposedly they both do the same thing, so i have serious doubts that they can be used together.

Wic mentioned something about a lil sensor u can disable, to make yer tranny shift way harder..

No, it definietly can't be combined with Don's mod. It does basically the same thing. I'd like more info as well on unplugging a sensor although I am hesitant about this one.

Removing that sensor

He said somethin about it being behind the intake.. makes the line run at full pressure.

If he reads this perhaps he'll clear it up a lil more for us.

Transstar and Repco are transmission only shops. They were both recommended by Trans-Go as dealers in my area. I bought mine at Repco and also bought my trans cooler there. The people there were both knowledgable and helpful. $90.00 total. Search this site for SteveChicagoSC and go to his homepage. He has a link to Trans-Go's website which has their phone #. Call em, they're helpful and have excellent tech support. If you can't find the web page, e-mail me and I'll dig up their phone #. This product is HIGHLY underrated!
