Recharging K & N filter??
Recharging K & N filter??
I think its time to clean the cone filter on my CAI. I'm not really sure its time to clean it. How do you know when to clean it??
Once I have washed it, how long does it take for it to dry?? What can I use in its place in the mean time??
Thanks

some points that was missed:
when adding the oil to the dry filter make sure add enough to get the red color back.
personally i wouldnt use a brush to remove some of the larger parts, i would just shake it and so forth and then eventually use the low pressure water to get it out.
when you buy the recharge kit it has step by step instructions which is pretty much the same as that site.

...so the filter must dry for a day or so and then I apply the oil...I got that. Do I need to spray oil to the inside of the filter?? For that one day in which the filter has to dry, what can I use in its place while I'm driving my car around?? Would it be ok to place an old rag or something and tie it on with a rubber band??
Thanks
Thanks

If you clean it on a warm day it'll dry pretty quickly. Then just spray down the pleats on the outside of the cone until its evenly covered and pinkish red without being drenched. The cotton will absorb the oil and doesn't need to be sprayed inside.
Rubber banded old rag for a filter = bad idea.
