Finally after periods of endless waiting, I bought my dream car. Artic White 98 Maxima SE. Bose, Leather, Automatic Climate Control. Only thing that I am disapointed was the fact that it's an AUTO.I wanted a stick so bad, but it's near impossible to find a stick with all the options I want.
-My obsession with the Maximas must have began back in 96 when the 97 se model was introduced. After that, my best friends brother bought a 98 SE, fully loaded, after riding in his car a couple of times I was determined to get my own when I turned 17.
-Turned 17 last july and I finally found the one that I was looking for. Before I had even purchased the car, I had so many things ready to put in car.
After an hour from the purchase, the car already had, 9004 and H3 Piaas, Clear bumper lenses and, aluminum guage bezel.
Plans for tomorrow: clearout taillights and change guage bulbs.

Questions--Does anybody have instruction on changing the bulbs inside? I read the bulb size is 194, but I also read it was something else for the 1998. Also,I was wondering what I have to change to make my engine sound SMOOOTH. I saw a 96 civic dx pass buy me and it sounded smoooth. Do I have to chang the airfiler or the intake?

Explain how you want your engine to sound. Do you mean louder?

Im not sure how to describe it. It wasn't loud, it sounded like an engine out of a sportscar. Very low and well tuned. Is it the intake?

Yup. Intake and exhaust. Mostly the exhaust.

I had mandrel bent 2-1/2" SS tubing installed from the resonator back and put in a Magnaflow SS performance muffler and got the sound I think you're after. Total cost installed was $ 385.00; have them put in a flanged connector in the same position as stock between the muffler and pipe in case you want to revert back to the oem muffler - you could do it yourself easily enough. The oem tube has a big restrictor just behind the resonator which I suspect should help open it up a bit once eliminated. At least my 95 had it.

Your car sounds sweet. At 17 I was driving a 72 Plymouth Satelite Sebring, it was a cool car but nothing in comparison to the sweet ride you now have. Good luck. Drive safe.
