What to do after you get tired of the Max?

I have been wondering what everyone will do once they get tired of modding their Max? I have been seriously considering selling my car but the market for a modded Max is very limited. What have other people done, just put it back to stock and sell it? Or do most people plan on keeping it forever? Such decisions about when enough is enough and to move on...

I plan on driving mine for as long as she can take it. My 1990 Jimmy made it to 200,000 no problem
I hope my max can do that easy

But what will you do when you decide you are done? Or do you plan to keep the car for another 10 years?

no more mods.. and me deciding i am done are two different things..

do i plan to keep the car for 10 years.. maybe.. more than likely.. see this isn't my commuter car anymore..

i already have my mind set that when i buy another car i am keeping this car, this is my project car. most people here are light modders.. spend maybe $5000 on their car. and when they are done they take their mods off and buy a new one.. i am past that stage now..

Amen! I'm keeping my car until it falls apart. My next vehicle will be another truck.

Tired of modding isn't a reason to sell a car and get another one.
Either it's
Too slow, becoming ugly, want coupe, want truck ....
You've got to have a reason to justify selling your car and know what you want before you can make any decisions.

I personally sold my maxima because it was too slow and I wanted a manual car with AWD. Even if I bought a manual maxima and even if I turbo'd it then it would still be FWD and that's not the best platform to go fast with. However I wanted 4 doors so my options were very limited
S4, WRX, GVR4 ... money is not there so that left me with only one choice and here I am.

If I had to do it all over again I'd NEVER sell my maxima. I'd keep it as a commuter car and buy a fast coupe to play with, too late for that.

I don't think I'll be bored of this car for awhile, and I'm still stock.

If I could ever find one, I would consider trading in for a 99-00 Volvo S70 T5 5spd. 280HP/300+TQ with just a chip and exhaust. But the manuals are so darn rare that it's pretty much hopeless - even more rare than Maxima 5spds

Maybe it's project-car time. Or save-up-for-project-car time.

Personally I think it woulda been more worthwhile saving up from day 1 of owning the max for a project car rather than mod out a lumbering FWD daily-driver sedan (and perhaps buying aftermarket parts to replace things on basis of necessity), but all is good in the name of working on cars.

You should get one of those crazy-fast autox go-karts

Great choice!

A guy I work with has one of these and that sucker is FAST!

Given that T5 5spds are impossible to find, I might do something like this too when the time comes

Modded cars are usually hard to sell, unless you get hookups. A guy I know at a local Nissan place sold his '93 prelude w/167,000 miles (worth 3K stock) for 8 grand becuase he had lots of mods. Honda found a buyer for him that same day too! Now he drives an S2000. This guy also owns his own Import Club (which he has been begging me to join ).

If I get a good offer, I'd probubly sell my baby. It would be an extremely hard decision though since i've put so much blood and sweat into it. But if and when I sell it, my new ride would be a 94-95 5.0 Black or Red SVT Cobra. I have always loved and wanted one. Dave, those LT1 F-bodies are too damned fast for my mom's approval

That's what I was thinking.

My friend just bought a new '02 Accord. The more I sit in there, the more I miss my Max.

This probably won't be until I get out of college - but I'm definitely getting a project car - and old 240SX, heck maybe even an S14. I'd do the SR20DET swap, and if I had cash left over I'd do a S15 front clip conversion. Mmmmm...I love S15s... Anyways, I'm pretty fond of Nissan. I'll probably stick with them for a while.

On the other hand, should tragedy strike and my car gets totalled, I think an Audi S4 might be in the cards..
