original sunroof wind deflector

after the deflector fell off i noitced nasty two sided tape. after peeling this off for 2 days!! it has etched permanent scraping into the roof. I noticed that there's an infiniti symbol on the deflector so it must be OEM. Is this tape stuff OEM? Can I put the deflector back on without the tape?

Two sided tape?

There should be two clips the grap the ledge of the sunroof and hold your deflector on the car.

Do you have a J30?

I don't know how it is on those models, but i believe on all i30s they have the deflector with 2 clips.
The one you have sounds like an aftermarket deflector, you can buy these at Strauss, autozone, pepboys etc.. they just slap onto your roof with double sided tape.... the infiniti emblem is interesting though.

I suggest you just get some more of that double sided tape, clean both surfaces well and slap it back on.....

Perfect opportunity to leave it off the car.

i do own a J30, but I own an I30t also. I liked the look of it on, plus I don't want to go through the trouble of repairing the roof paint. It scratched pretty far down and buffing most likely won't help. The bottom of the deflector is lined with a hard rubber/plastic and I'm not sure how good this can be for the roof. I'll just look around at some others and see what theirs is like.
