The engine coolant temperature sensor senses the temperature of the engine coolant.

The ECU uses this info to determine when the engine is "warmed up" and when to change to the warm engine air/fuel map.

Anyway, the fans come on automatically whenever the S/C is on. Is this your problem?

My problem is that when i am at a light i can hear the fan playing on and off and sometimes my car dies out.then it won't start for a few minutes but when it does it goes like nothing happend.a few 2 out of 10 times my rpm go up and down but rarely.is that part expensive.i need a whole new brake job done too 4 rotors pads and 1 rear caliper.don't know what brakes to but either any ideas?

For the brakes it depends on what your looking for? Regular good grabbing brakes or a higher performance setup?

I like Performance Friction pads up front. Autozone rotors all around and then whatever in the back, the back is not as important.

its your temp coolant sensor. same thing happened to me last year. it adjusts the gas when its warming up, when its broken, it will flood it and stall out. or vice versa.
