Dynomax on stock exhaust
Dynomax on stock exhaust
Does anyone have Dynomax muffler on otherwise stock exhaust? I was thinking about getting the Super Turbo, but I'm also considering the Ultraflow stainless muffler. With the ST, will the sound be absorbed by the resonator too much?
Don't get the Turbo muffler. Its garbage. Tests done on SE-R's a few years back showed an INCREASE in backpressure with the Turbo muffler compared to the stock one.
Get the UltraFlo, unless you are really crazy about a shiny muffler. Dynomax is pretty decent stuff, IMHO.

How loud would the Ultraflow be with the stock cat/resonator, as in droning on the highway, etc.?

Well, if the motor in the Max responds anything like my mom's Golf did, then the noise level inside the car will increase only negligable, with no droning at all. However, from header back I had the cat and piping replaced (2.25") along with a 24" Dynomax Thrush Glasspack as a resonator.
I presume on stock piping with the stock resonator, it would sound very similar.
