Well the interior sound deadener would be a last thing as it is last on the list, but by being an everday car I mean you can still put 5 people in and drive around, without your interior looking gutted. They are all just suggestions, I haven't tried the interior sound deadening but I doubt it would be that much worse than my car right now, because it is annoyingly loud as it is if you don't like noise.

With the exhaust upgrade and especially the Y-pipe, the absense of sound deadners would make u deaf.

The only thing I could think of is it makes the back seat stiffer to sit in and also blocks things in the trunk from hitting the back seat. Other than that I have no idea. It does weight 12lbs I believe of the top of my head.

exhaust heat shielding there for a reason
Not sure if you'd want to take the heat shielding off for a daily driver. I've heard of people that ran into problems doing that because the catalytic converter heated up the floorpan.
One of my friends actually had his carpet start smoking because the exposed converter heated up the floorpan and carpeting. This may be an isolated incident, but it had the potential to become a serious situation if he didn't notice it in time and pull over.

While you are under the dash and have the door panels off, you can also remove the stereo, speakers, cd changer and whatever other stereo gear you have under there.
You can also remove the power window/lock motors while you have the door panels off.
The soundproofing under the carpet is messy to take off, but if you use either a heat gun and a scraper or dry ice, it comes off relatively easily. If you do take it off and don't like it, there's always dynamat...
Don't forget the rims! Lighter rims can make a huge difference in performance!
If money is not an object, you can always look at a Ti or c/f exhaust can.
If you are really, really into putting your car on a diet, you can also drill 1/2" holes in all non-load bearing pieces and brackets in the car. Would probably recommend against doing this to things like seat brackets.
If you would rather not go through all the trouble of removing the a/c and p/s so you can still have these creature comforts, you can just remove the belts so these accessories are not being driven and free up some hp.
You may want to check with your local laws before removing or tampering with your airbags. Removing them is illegal in some states, I think.

what about removing power steering, AC, and cruise control? Obviously would have to be for track purposes, but those are pretty heavy, and it would put a lot less strain on the pulleys too i imagine...that's something we used to do to hondas, i don't know if it would work with a max.

I have all that except cruise control. Thanks for the idea. Also I have not noticed any differences in rattles or anything at all. It still seems normal. I have never gotten a flat so i'm not worried, but its probably not for most.

I have heard stories about this stuff messing up the balance of your tires if not used properly, so you may want to consider that when it comes to the tradeoff between weight and spare tire.

Used up one entire can of fix-a-flat (had to keep rotating the tire so the stuff would seal up properly and keep from leaking out of the hole), which got the tire up off the rim. To fill it up the rest of the way we borrowed a compressor and filled it up enough for him to drive it onto the trailer, and it held up for the rest of the day (he didn't race on it again, though).
For a smaller puncture, it should be more than adequate.

Thanks. I'm about 80% done with my seat fold-up write-up.
No no, I just write down all my weights whenever a part is off my car in my Palm. No special program. Sorry.
I have my Palm today, the exact weights are: just what we said 10 horizontal, 20 vertical ... and 6lb for the metal seat back plate.

another good way to get rid of added weight is to not go to the track on a full tank of gas. But im assuming most of you allready knew this. also get rid of that pesky windshield and grab a set of googles or try saran wrap be sure and get the heavy duty stuff though

I guess everyone forgot about Papasmurf's car. Probably the lightest on the .Org.
Also, Fix-a-Flat does NOT eat up your rims. It will, however, cause your tires to stick to it. Making it that much harder for the tire shop to remove them.

I have still been adding to the list and have found many simple modifications to save weight that will not change your everday car. I am still wondering if Papasmurf might share some ideas?
For anyone who has not seen the list lately:

If anyone has any ideas or comments please post them or PM me.
Thanks.
