Newest Mod (and FYI): Silverstars: $34 a pair.

I know that there are a lot of good things said about SilverStars, but as it has been pointed out, for half of the price I can get a set of BlueVisions and have $ left over to have a spare set.

So that was the plan until this weekend when I went to Advanced Auto to get some parts for my tune up and saw that they had silverstars on sale for $22 each. I was still not ready to plunk down $44 for Bulbs, but when I saw that they had a $10 rebate on top of that (and Philips IS good about rebates), I had to splurge and get them.

An improvement? Yes. Worth the regular price of $50? Probably not. Worth $34? Definately, especially when the next best thing is only $10 less.

My $0.02!

Oh yeah. I think that they are subsidiary companies. Either way, when I bought "Cool Blue" bulbs (same manufacturer- little brothers to SilverStars) for my XJ the rebate came in quickly.

I also just got the silverstar bulbs this weekend..however I paid the full $50. I had 3A racing 4200K crystal hyper white bulbs in before, which were pretty bright, the silverstars are a bit better to me but I kinda miss the blue tint to my headlights when they are off now- oh well.

If you paid retail and still have the UPCs/ reciept, go to an auto parts store to get the rebate form...a "free" $10...
