Was this EVER a stock wing on a 4th Gen?

Check out this auction:
Maxima Wing

He claims it was on his 98 Maxima. Looks a bit odd to me...Was there ever a wing like that on a max?

Well, he says that he just has it sitting on the Honda del sol to show what it looks like.

But still... I doubt it came stock on his Maxima. I bet he bought it aftermarket and installed it himself (or bought the car from someone who had installed an aftermarket spoiler).

It sure looks a lot like the aftermarket spoiler I bought for my Altima (a lot of those aftermarket spoilers do not have the middle sections, and they just attach at the very edges)

personally i WOULD NOT BUY a wing from ebay unless i saw a picture of it fitted on a maxima.

and being this one is talking about fitment on other cars, i wouldn't take a chance especially since I HAVE ONE FOR SALE FOR THE SAME COLOR AS YOUR CAR

I have a wing...stock. I was just searching for Max parts in general on eBay and stumbled upon that auction.

BTW, meccanoble, I tried to sell your wing to a guy who lives near me but he changed his mind.

Re: Was this EVER a stock wing on a 4th Gen?

dude, this was NEVER a stock wing for any year model maxima. and for an aftermarket wing, i don't think it looks so hot.

if anything, it reminds me more of the stock wing from the 3rd gen cars, but without the supports in the middle. they were such a b*tch to deal with because the leading edge was only held down with adhesive and never quite fit flush with the trunk lid. plus, they were made of some horrible pliable poly-eurothane type material.

edit: after looking at it again, it could very well be a wing from an early '90s model acura legend...looks very similar at least.
