Yeah finally ...but whats that noise??

ahh finally but...
I finally got my new mods done and posted new pics, check em out at:

http://maxima.cardomain.com/id/achmaxima

Please vote too!

I have two minor problems:
1-I got freakin finger prints inside the plastic that's over the gague, I cant seem to take it out cos the steering wheel is in the way, any suggestions?

2-I got the Frankencar intake installed, not sure if it's just me or if this is usual for those who have frankencar intake ... whenever I step on the gas there is a squeaky noise but goes away once I let the gas pedal go. the squeaky noise is like when you know you need new brakes. So is this normal cos I don't think the squeak noise is plus I didn't have it before I got the intake installed.

your opinions??

Yea, i get kind of like a whistling sound when i step on the gas a little but it goes away at higher RPMs. Its normal i guess, other people have reported the same thing and they say its just the intake and its no biggie. its normal.
as for the plastic gague cover, i think you can take it off, not sure tho.......nice pics too

Same here, whistling noise, but it's nothing. No need to worry about it. If the fingerprints are on the inside of the plastic, then remove the panel all together, disassemble, then clean it.

I went to a place called Speed Concept to install it, but they are so freakin far away and they look at me funny cos Im a girl who mods her car, and they apparently don't get very many girls in their shop.

well, when you said you had a "squeaky sound" like the way your brakes sound.... that doesn't sound too normal... I know because i don't know what's up w/ the nissna maximas, but they don't like semi-metallic pads and mine squeal like hell and it's NO WHERE near comparable to the frankencar midpipe that i put on. I like the sound, but reminds me of the sound whales make. hah, my maxima IS a whale... but not that slow =D

anywho, if it's just this whistling sound you're hearing, then you're good. good luck

hmmm if I was a shop I'd be happy to have a girl modding... oh well... lessee read Chestons How to section like Nismo suggested, see if you're confident enough to do it, its not too hard really.

if you were down in Cali we'd help ya out! maybe post in the NW forum, see if anyone would be so kind to help ya out

I checked out Maxima Driver and I think I can remove it now thanks to the instructions. thank you all again!

PS Can anyone suggest a place to get those colored spark plug covers?

are you talking about the plastic peice that faces you when you open your hood that only covers 3 spark plugs? I think most people paint them themselves with engine paint.

People paint them themselves. Just get some high temp engine paint from any auto store. That way it wont peel from the heat.
