gunmetal rings on white SE gauges...pics
well i liked mad dhan's gunmetal gauge rings so much i decided to pick up a set. i liked the look of the gunmetal just because it matches the needles and they seemed to be a tad more subtle than the chrome ones. his rings are on the black gauges so i figured i would post a couple pictures as a reference on white gauges. (since i had trouble finding some)

sorry about the quality of the photos...my digicam doesnt like too much light on white surfaces. let me know what you guys think.

Looks really good
I really like it. I think that it adds a flair without looking ricey or overdone. Actually, I like any rings on stock gauges, but i have to admit that the chromies look better on GLE/GXE gauges and the muted color of these look better on SEs. Not that the chrome rings look BAD on the SEs, I just prefer it as I stated it.

Would you mind telling me how to install these? Do you have to tear apart the speedo box? Or the dashboard maybe? Those look really good!
My gf has the SE model...(mine is GXE), and I think white gauges from SE are just awesome in the night with those rings....

I saw these on e-bay about a week ago, and I wasn't sure how they'd look. This thread answers that question, and now I really want them, but I can't find them on E-bay... do you have contact info for the guy who sells them or something? Maybe he'll put more up. Great alternative to those expensive Cefiero chrome rings.

..but how to take the dash apart? Can you give me some directions on how to do it?

they come with adhesive already on the back...you just have to press them into the gauges. it is tricky to get them lined up and stay stuck in there...but in the end its not all that hard.

The rings are VERY easy to put in...
Remove bottom plastic piece under steering wheel(2 screws and 2 pressure clips)
Remove metal bracket under that...(2 small bolts)
Remove nuts from two bolts holding steering column up in place and lower onto floorboard(use extension and look at side of bolt in between SW and dash edge)
Remove plastic gaige surround(2 screws at top and pressure clips on the bottom) [You may want to disconnect electrical connectors to prevent stretching connector for security light, cruise and dimmer]
Use flathead screwdriver of finger to loosen clear plastic tabs all around front of gauge pod (It is easy to remove gauge assembly by 3 screws and just pull forward slightly to reach all tabs)
Remove clear lense and set aside
Insert rings appropriate to corresponding bezel and press flush
Reassemble in reverse and tigheeten everything up and enjoy the newly found perspective...like me
there you go
GD going on now!

Thank you, Sir...
...really appreciate it. I would to try this when I get the rings. But I think mine should be chrome...because the gauges are black.....
