I have never EVER EVER EVER seen this done to a Max before, what do you think?

Hey,

Okay, here's the story...Somebody must have backed into me at the office the other day, b/c now I am missing a big blotch of paint from my front bumper. So what I intend to do is order a new bumpter, take it to the local body shop and have them eliminate the opening for the bumper lights. Therefore, I will have the headlights, then the fog lights with nothing in between. I think it will look EXTREMELY clean, and change the entire look of the car. Does anyone have any opinions on this, or a photoshopped pic of what it would look like? I have until monday to decide, as that is when I am picking up the bumper and dropping my car off at the shop. Thanks.

How would it block anymore air than the bumper lenses are already blocking. What I was talking about, is where the bumper lenses go, use some bondo, or whatever it is that body shops use to fill in holes, and make that solid.

bondo will crack, they can only plastic weld it and most shoips dont have the equitpment to do it, if they do theyll charge you big $$$

I was going to take it to the shop that did my tailights. They shaved the entire rear of my trunk, and installed the IS300 lights in it. It worked perfectly, so I'm sure they could do something very simple like this.

trunk is metal, it can be welded, a bumper is polyurethane and will crack if anything is "slapped" on top, only plastic welding can be done so it wont crack, you cant use a reg welder, all special eqpt. its not cost effective for a shop to have it most of the time because bumpers are cheap

That's exactly what I was going to do with the blinkers, but I don't want to just paint the lenses body color, I want it to be smooth and even, like people could not even tell anything was ever there.

well you can use Bondo for most people they wont notice but for the pros out there they will notice, its up to you how much u wana spend on doing it, you could buy a Sarona front bumper or the Skyline bumper and do something like that before you put it on the car

good luck with your project! (if ya decide to go ahead with it)

If you color your turn signals like that then the orange doesnt shine through. I would love to color my deep evergreen but If the orange wont come through I wont.

Its not a matter of the light coming through its a matter of taking the hole light out of the scenario all together.

Hey Big L...who's white maxima is that??? That actually doesn't look so bad, and I guess it would save me a couple hundred bucks (which is always good)...Does that person have any other pictures of their car (i.e. straight on view, other side...etc). Thanks again for your help bro in pulling up these pics. Hit me up.

that pic is a photoshop, thought it was real eh. The car is real(rims, drop, etc.) but the corners are not. If you still want the pic of his car his part of the NE guys and that was a big meet they usually have up there. Im not sure of his org name but you can find him easily. NP, always like to help out the fellas, and the ladies

That covers your taillights... redding them out. For the front bumper lights tho, i would suggest just smoking them the body color. I only say this because finding a translucent vinyl film for the body color of your car is EXTREMELY RARE. paint it! It's your only option if u wanna preserve the turn signal lights...

this has been done a couple of times.. it won't block air to the radiator, but it will look more than weird on a car with stock bumpers and etc.. yes it will round out the front more, but if that is the only thing you have done body wise, i'd say wait on it..

and bondo would work, but may crack, and plastic weld is kinda pricey unless you know people, the only other other way would be fiberglass, but i am not sure you can glass eurathane very easily either.
