i'll be the first to admit i bought into the hype way back when...it was before i was on here and didn't know much about cars. i was a sucker and after seeing it plugged a million times figured i'd try it out. ended up selling it on ebay and practically got my money back. i'm not sure if this thread will get deleted, i just wanted to see how many tried. so,how many of you had it too?

Did anyone notice in that infomercial, the dyno? They dyno a stock 2002 impala which has 200 crank horsepower and they get 200 wheel horsepower stock!! Then they get 220 horsepower with the tornado air!! Absolutely amazing that some people can be so gullible

Think you are wrong there, that was not a 2002 impala, it was a 96-99 model year impala which has a V8 engine putting out 260hp. That would be about right if they got 200hp.

Im not saying it did 20+whp increase, but then again these damn V8s will do wonders with a piece of metal that looks like a turbine.

Only one way a Tornado Air will give better mileage.

There is only one way a tornado Air system will give you better Gas Mileage in a FI vehicle. If you have a straight hose into your intake. Basically the fact that the hose has grooves in it swirls the air already, but if you have a straight air hose the tornado air system will give you HP. If you take a close look at the Impala's intake hose in the commercial its a totally ungrooved straight hose, not a grooved hose like on many cars. I believe that the tornado Air system would do well in this case. Also it has been shown that tornado Air systems do well on Carb engines and Throttle Body Injections such as the ones on 1985-1992 5.0L Firebirds. Take a second look at that commercial and I guarantee that car on the dyno has a straight smooth intake hose and not an OEM one.

Personally I don't think it will work in any car. It you start putting things in the path of your air flow, you're going to cause drag and slow the air movement down (a given). This product is not a good idea for adding HP.
