Is it so that I can destroy them much easier I was trying to clean my nitrous filter and I fubar two brass fittings. One nitrous gauge reducer and one 1/8" NPT male nipple. I'm going to replace the standard nitrous filter with the high flow 4AN type so it will make maintenance much easier for the next time.

The brass is used because it is significantly softer than the stainless steel. Thus it alone will be damaged if overtorqued, and not the entire hard line. Plus, it also allows for better sealing when torqued properly. If you are having problems, it is probably because you are overtorquing.

Sin has got it >>

Brass has a fairly high ductility, so high in fact, that it is hard to machine for it is too "gummy."

welcome to everyone with air suspension's nightmare.. not only is brass soft enough to get crushed by a monkey wrench, but i swear when it heats up it locks the threads on tighter, because i know i can't put some of those fittings on as tight as they are.

To make us buy more fittings?

I never had a problem with brass fittings. Its the aluminum fittings are nightmares for me.

I know...those fittings are not cheap I should be getting my replacement fittings in the mail tomorrow. Let's just hope my recall fuel pressure gauge will be back soon.
