Anybody with pics of 35% tint?
see the link in my sig (cardomain page)
i gave 35 tint and 20 on the back. perfect IMHO!
20 is to dark on the sides at night and 35 (on my other car, 35 all around) on the back is to light most of the time. you can't really tell its two different shades of tint.

nice. thanks guys
I don't have pics yet, but I can say that I wish I had gotten at least 20% tint. The main reason I took 35% was for concern that it may be harder to see outside at night when trying to back up or merge into a lane (ya can't always depend on your sideviews). On the plus side, the Llumar tint I got is a platinum tint which is reflective and at certain angles and distances, its hard to see inside because you're really just seeing your reflection. At night, its dark and hard to see into also.

i've got solarguard titanium tint. the reflective property is very cool. 32 for the fronts look dark to me...maybe cuz i got charcoal cloth interior. looks fine on my gf's car.
20s for the rear is fine, unles you're backing into a dark alley (like my house...long driveway with no lights...i always back in). at night, all you see through the back window are headlights anyways.
I highly recommend tinting your windshield. Get the lightest you can. It's nearly impossible to tell I got it tinted unless I told you. As long as they bring the film to the edges, it's hard to tell.

In NY I don't believe they have Tint regulations.
I live in MA but I bought my Max from a guy in NY. He said there was 20% all around. When I went to get my car inspected, I failed because the tint meter showed 11%. It looked nice. really dark. Kinda hard to see at night though.
After I paid to get it removed ($75 !!) I asked how much it would be to put 35% on. (MA legal limit). They said they would do it, but it would be a cash-only no-receipt deal because Maxima's come with 5% to begin with and adding 35% would make it 40% which is technically illegal. I guess I could go that route, and the next time I get it inspected leave a $20 on the seat and say "Hey there's some money on the seat...or maybe there isn't."

maximas come with 95% tint. 35% tint on the 95% would make it about 30%, not 40%. the % stands for the amount of light the tint allows to pass through. therefore, the higher the % the lighter the tint; the lower the % the darker the tint.

I just bought a 2003 Silver SE and wanted to get the windows tinted. to me 35% looks real light but its the legal limit here in maryland. Can someone tell me how tinting is enforced by law enforcement? are they strict about it or...? I don't want to do a 20% and then get pulled over and have to tear it off but at the same time when driving around, I see a LOT of cars that I know for sure have their tints a lot darker than 35%...how are they getting away with it?
Here in MA I had a buddy with an Acura Integra that had 16%. He got pulled over for speeding...I guess he gave the officer some lip because he decided to cite him for having to dark a tint. To prove his point, he cut a Credit Card sized piece of tint from the CENTER of his drivers side window with a razor knife to keep on file. What an A$$. This way when he goes to fight the Ticket the judge will have proof of the darkness. Total ticket including speeding --> $600. Ouch.
