Are wheel seals and drive shaft seals the same thing?

Are wheel seals and drive shaft seals the same thing?

I had purchased these show in the pics below. Would they already have the drive shaft seal in them?

There are two seals in the differential housing part of the transmission. These are commonly referred to as the drive axle seals. They did not come with the axles you got, but they do not need to be replaced unless they are leaking. Since you are going to have access to them when replacing your axles, it may seem like a good idea to go ahead and replace the seals while you are at it, but be forewarned, they are a tight fit in the housing and it is easy to booger them up if you are not careful (the voice of experience here). Use a suitable size of pipe or large socket as a seal driver. Or get a seal driver kit.
