My car ****ed me off at the 1/4 today!!!

Just installed a wsp y-pipe and thought I could get some decent times since my track is closing for the winter.

Well, the best of the day was:

60ft 2.301
1/8 = 9.560 @74.26 mph
1/4 = 14.866 @ 93.17 mph

I can usually run very consistent 2.2's very easily, however, today I couldn't get anything to stick. My clutch was slipping, my tires were bouncing and my times were not very impressive.

I guess my y-pipe is working because my mph is up 2mph from my last visit to this track, but I was expecting 3-4mph......

Temp = 42 F
Humidity = 71-75
Barometer = 31.39
Headwind = 10-15mph

I guess my next mod needs to be an ACT clutch?

Blame it on the head wind and traction. Go back on Sunday and see what happens.

Either that or I forgot how to drive!

Also, these times were run at Bowling Green and that track compared to Steele seems to be about 1-1.5 mph and .1 - 1.5 secs slower from past experiences?

Matt was there and was glad he didn't bring his car. lol

Yeah, BG was not hooking very well. I think you had left when I did my best run of the day, beating a Mustang

Best was a 14.924@92.21mph with a 2.203 60' ( Mustang did a 15.886 ).

Was it a green stock 5spd GT with a horrible driver?? If so that guy would make me laugh everytime he ran!! lol

Of course I am sure others were doing the same to me when I would make my runs and my clutch would slip causing me to red line first and bog second LOL

Nice Job on the time! I wanted to race you, but never got lined up right. If I could have got your 60ft time I would have hit 14.5's -14.6's

No, the Mustang was a red-maroon looking one with "slicks" and huge chrome duals poking out.

I did not even think of lining up with anyone ( though, I would have if asked ) as I was there to "do it" for the first time. I seem to have been launching at way too high of an RPM and was simply not getting as much traction as I could have ( I should have lowered tire pressure ). I did have four 2.2XX 60' times out of 6 races. Wonder what I could have done with a proper launch and proper manual shifts

Next year, I plan on trying again when the track opens. Hopefully, I will have at least a UDP and intake then!!!

Victim, thats too bad that you couldn't get a good launch in.. I always heard people complain at home about Ohio valley and how TERRIBLE it was there as far as launching. I still think I got better 60's there than anywhere haha..

if you are gettin a new clutch, talk to me.. i may be able to help.

the temperature also , at the track, bein 42 may be too cold - I know sometimes when it gets real cold I have a hard time with wheel hop and crap like that at the track,...

Yep, wheel hop was horrible, then I lowered my psi and that helped some, but couldn't ever get a good launch.

So you got the goods on ACT? I just want to be able to chirp 3rd and 4th, I don't ask for much
